This is the council that in a failed attempt to cover up a major fraud whereby hundreds of thousands of pounds of local tax payer's money went missing they then unlawfully fired the whistle blower who exposed them, he then went on to sue the council for unfair dismissal and won damages of £ 1.0 million in an out of court settlement. Although there was much talk of involving the police at the time another classic cover-up averted any such criminal investigation.
